Pioneers in the development of a support for the diagnosis of mental health disorders

diaMentis is developing a unique diagnostic tool patterns via an eye retina examination to assist psychiatrists and physicians in the same way electrocardiogram is helping cardiologists to support diagnostics but in mental health. Defined as a software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD), this technology supports earlier diagnosis of mental illnesses.

This technology could provide primary care physicians and psychiatrists with an objective method for diagnostic decision-making, especially for patients suffering from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

With its publications and concepts relevant to both clinical practice and public health, the International Chair on Cardiometabolic Risk has placed Laval University very advantageously at the center of international thinking activities in the field of prevention and cardiovascular health. As evidenced by the many collaborations with prestigious universities such as Harvard and Cambridge and with several countries (United States, China, United Kingdom, France, among others), working groups and learned societies, the Chair plays an important role in the development and transfer of knowledge in this multidisciplinary sector.
